ELEKproTEK Salary & Work Hours Policy
1. Salary Status
ELEKproTEK employees are salaried, not hourly. Pay is based on role and responsibilities, not hours worked. Overtime does not accumulate toward additional PTO or pay. Workload may vary week to week — some weeks require more than 40 hours, others less. This balance is part of being salaried.
2. Work Hours
We operate on a 24/7 service model, so employees do not have fixed “9–5” schedules. Work is scheduled in arrival windows (e.g., 8–11 AM, 11–2 PM, 2–5 PM) based on customer needs, emergencies, or inspections. Employees are expected to be flexible, available during assigned windows, and responsive to management. The expectation is to work the hours necessary to complete assignments safely and professionally.
3. Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Each employee receives 10 paid days off per calendar year (vacation, personal, or sick).
- PTO is a fixed benefit and does not accrue based on overtime or hours worked.
- PTO must be requested in advance, except in emergencies.
4. Absences & Unpaid Leave
- Once PTO is used, any additional full-day absences are considered unpaid leave.
- Partial-day absences do not reduce salary — if any work is performed in a day, that day is paid.
- Excessive unapproved absences may result in disciplinary action if they impact operations or customer service.
5. How Deductions Are Calculated
Salary deductions apply only to full-day absences beyond PTO. The daily rate is calculated as follows:
Calculation | Example |
---|---|
Annual Salary ÷ 260 workdays = Daily Rate | $52,000 ÷ 260 = $200/day |
Unpaid days × Daily Rate = Deduction | 2 unpaid days × $200/day = $400 deduction |
Extended unpaid leave is calculated the same way (daily rate × number of days). Partial days are not deducted.
6. Flexibility & Scheduling
Salaried employees may occasionally work more than 40 hours in a week (e.g., emergencies, large installs). In return, ELEKproTEK allows reasonable flexibility in scheduling when coordinated with management. Flexibility does not replace PTO — any absence from a scheduled shift must still be formally approved as PTO or unpaid leave.
7. Policy Enforcement
- PTO balances are tracked centrally (ClickUp/Google Calendar/HR system).
- Employees are responsible for monitoring their remaining PTO.
- Continuous unapproved absences or misuse of PTO may result in performance reviews, loss of pay, or termination.
