Compensation & Benefits Policy

ELEKproTEK Compensation & Benefits Policy

1. Purpose

This policy provides a fair, transparent, performance-driven pay structure with a clear career pathway from entry-level roles to leadership and ownership opportunities. It aligns compensation with skills, responsibility, safety, customer experience, and contribution to ELEKproTEK’s growth.

2. Salary Structure (Starting Rates)

Role Starting Base Salary
Electrician Helper $25,000
Electrical Apprentice / Technician $35,000
Journeyman Electrician $50,000
Lead Electrician Technician $55,000
Assistant & Service Manager $57,000
Admin / Customer Support / Project Manager $25,000
Franchise Owner (Buy-In Required) $70,000+ (running an ELEKproTEK shop)

Note: These are starting salaries. Individual compensation may vary based on location, certifications, experience, and performance.

3. Payroll & Payment Terms

  • Employees are paid on a semi-monthly salary schedule (two pay periods per month).
  • Pay dates vary based on weekends, holidays, and payroll processor timelines; deposits generally fall between the 1st–5th and 15th–20th of each month.
  • Annual performance reviews determine eligibility for raises and promotions; raises are performance-based (see Section 6).

4. Salary Status & Work Hours

  • All listed roles are salaried. Pay is based on role and responsibilities, not hours worked.
  • ELEKproTEK operates a 24/7 service model. Employees do not have fixed “9–5” schedules; work is booked in arrival windows (e.g., 8–11 AM, 11–2 PM, 2–5 PM).
  • Employees are expected to work the hours necessary to complete assignments safely and professionally. Some weeks may exceed 40 hours; others may be lighter.
  • Overtime does not convert into additional PTO or extra pay.

5. Paid Time Off (PTO) & Holidays

  • Full-time employees receive 10 PTO days per calendar year (vacation, personal, or sick).
  • PTO is a fixed benefit and does not accrue based on overtime or hours worked.
  • PTO should be requested in advance (except emergencies). Company-observed holidays may be exchanged for a floating PTO day if scheduled to work.

6. Performance Rating & Raises

Quarterly reviews score five areas: Electrical Skills & Knowledge, Professionalism (incl. attitude), Innovation & Technology Use, Customer Satisfaction, and Leadership & Growth Potential.

Average Quarterly Rating Raise Eligibility (within the year)
5.0 1–3% raise
4.0–4.9 Up to 1% raise
3.0–3.9 No raise; improvement plan
Below 3.0 Retraining required; repeated scores may lead to termination

Raises are not guaranteed and depend on performance, role availability, and company financials.

7. Career Growth Roadmap (How to Move Up)

  • Helper → Apprentice/Technician: Master basic tools & material readiness; demonstrate NEC & safety fundamentals; pass ELEKproTEK in-house skills test.
  • Apprentice/Technician → Journeyman: Pass Journeyman exam or verify 4+ years experience; prove consistent troubleshooting and code-compliant installs.
  • Journeyman → Lead Technician: Lead small crews; mentor helpers; deliver jobs on time/budget; strong customer feedback.
  • Lead Technician → Service Manager: Schedule/coordinate crews; manage inspections & customer communication; enforce safety/quality; coach team.
  • Service Manager → Project Manager: Oversee budgets, proposals, multi-crew projects; drive high customer retention and repeat business.
  • Project Manager → Franchise Owner: Demonstrate leadership, financial readiness, and brand standards; buy-in required to operate an ELEKproTEK location (starting $70,000+).

8. Absences, Unpaid Leave & Deductions

  • After all 10 PTO days are used, additional full-day absences are unpaid.
  • Partial-day absences do not reduce salary if any work is performed that day.
  • Deduction calculation (full-day only): Annual Salary ÷ 260 workdays = Daily Rate; Deduction = Unpaid Days × Daily Rate.
Calculation Example
Annual Salary ÷ 260 = Daily Rate $52,000 ÷ 260 = $200/day
Unpaid Days × Daily Rate = Deduction 2 days × $200/day = $400 deduction

Excessive unapproved absences may trigger performance action up to termination.

9. Terms & Adjustments

  • This policy is reviewed annually and may be modified based on company needs and financials.
  • Raises/promotions depend on performance, company growth, and available roles.
  • ELEKproTEK may adjust or suspend raises/bonuses in cases of misconduct or financial hardship.
